Lenox has been making beautiful ceramics and fine china since the late 1800s in America.
Plates for Presidents
Lenox has had the honor of creating Presidential tableware for six Presidents: Wilson, FD Roosevelt, Truman, Reagan, Clinton and GW Bush. You can learn more about the White House china services here.
Lenox has the distinction of having the only American manufacturing plant of bone china. It is located in Kinston, North Carolina. Bone China is sought after for its durability and the unique luminescence that the pieces have.
Please note that much of Lenox’s casual dining sets are not made in the USA, but their bone china is made in the USA. The product pages on their website are not always clear, but the bottom of the china is clearly marked made in the USA if they are.
Pendleton Woolen Mills is an American textile manufacturing company based in Portland, Oregon and they are known for their quality woolen blankets and clothing which they have been making in the Pacific Northwest since the early 1900s! Many of their designs are inspired by Native American designs or are created in collaboration with a Native American artist.
The original woolen mill plants in Pendleton, Oregon, and Washougal, Washington, are among the few woolen mills in operation in the United States today, and Pendleton woolen fabrics and blankets are still woven in these Pacific Northwest mills. Additionally, blankets and shawls are sewn and edged by hand in these mills.
Please note, some garments are woven abroad. However, the Pendleton website clearly marks which items are made in the USA.
